NEW LOOK: The Iconic Reel retains the now ‘Iconic’ Hatch window pattern with 6 fins, recalling the original Finatic model.
Instantly identifiable and classic, the Hatch look is simply Iconic. They were due for a style upgrade that can be seen in the shape of the new drag knob - which brings depth - and the ‘H’ brand logo.
Hatch now use a bright dip finishing that brings out the shine of the machined parts while also keeping the strong colouring of matte anodize.
IMPROVED SEALING: Through better design, Hatch have increased sealing by eliminating water entry points through subtracting superfluous components from past models.
NEW HANDLE/COUNTERWEIGHT: The new handle design significantly reduces the risk of galvanic corrosion. While the Iconic has retained the aluminum handle, it now has a softer look and feel.
IMPROVED STABILITY: The Iconic reel does not utilize a cassette to house the drag system as in past models - instead, it is now built into the body. This has decreased axial runout which creates a more stable and solid design.
NEW DRAG MATERIAL: Hatch's new carbon-filled drag material not only dissipates heat faster but also creates a smoother feel. This is their smoothest drag system to date.

NEW SPOOL DESIGN: In many ways, the Iconic spool is similar to previous models, but with a few key differences. Hatch have ported the spool arbor which will allow lines to dry better on the reel after use - think of it as ventilation. They have also cut aesthetic holes into the Mid Arbor spools, making it much simpler than before to distinguish between a large and mid arbor.

The 2023 Custom Saltwater Slam Reels are here! Inspired by top saltwater species, these geometrically designed reels are in a league of their own! These are also Hatch's first ever half-frame reels.
The Saltwater Slam Iconics have been specially anodized in fan-favorite cyan blue and hand-painted with a complimentary teal paint for that true ocean blue look. This run is available in sizes 7+ with Bonefish engraving, 9+ with Permit engraving, and 11+ with Tarpon engraving - all in large arbor only.

Utilizing Tungsten Carbide cutters in a side cutting position makes reliable cuts through all fishing line material easier than ever. Gripping grooves added to the jaw tips easily grasp knot tag ends for ideal rigging. The I-Beam arms are crafted from 6061-T6 Aluminum and protected with Type II anodize.The misted finish gives extra texture, keeping Nomad pliers from slipping out of wet hands.
